CLOW Super-Lock restrained joint ductile iron pipe is now available in sizes 6"-24" for horizontal directional drilling (HDD). This new technology for ductile iron pipe is rapidly growing in the water utility arena due to the following reasons: Iron pipe is impermeable to VOCs, is easily located, will not creep or stretch, larger internal diameters, strength and proven longevity of ductile iron. HDD is beneficial because of minimal disruption of traffic as boring is under sidewalks and streets, existing utilities remain intact, reduced environmental impact and cost effectiveness when concrete, asphalt or special landscaping requirements need restored to original condition.
